About

📍
Now: exploring AI/ML × biology and writing on Substack
Wading through the AI hype to find actual solutions for biology
  • Exploring AI/ML & Biology intersection through research and experimentation.
  • Writing and sharing what I'm learning on Substack
  • Building computational models to understand biological processes as real-world outcomes.
📚
Training: Meredith College → Duke University
My journey to computational biology and bioinformatics
  • Pursued Math and Bio double major at Meredith college which turned out to be a perfect foundation for computational genomics work.
  • Researched at several universities in the Triangle (NCCU, NC State, Duke - UNC Chapel Hill next!).
  • Served as sole computational biology researcher in neurogenomics wetlab, building modular solutions for addiction and neurodevelopment research at Duke.
🎓
Early research: Early College HS projected me into research
Foundation years at NC Central University
  • Attended an Early College high school on NCCU's campus graduating with 66 credits.
  • Invited to undergraduate research program and awarded best student researcher for Summer 2016.
  • Fell in love with data, programming, and genomics.
🇯🇲
Roots: Jamaica → North Carolina
Origin story and cultural background
  • Born in Jamaica and moved to North Carolina at a young age.
  • Snow was definitely not what I expected!
  • Have loved NC ever since..
